Rally for Relief – NORRA Mexican 1000 To Provide Aid to Hurricane Jimena Victims

4 September 2009, Los Angeles: The National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) announced today the “Rally for Relief,” as an adjunct to its forthcoming NORRA Mexican 1000 Rally. This week Hurricane Jimena ravaged the Baja Peninsula and directly affected many of the locations that the Mexican 1000 Rally is scheduled to visit. As of today, 1000’s of people are homeless, without food, water, or electricity. NORRA is calling on all participants, racers, and the off-road community at large to pitch in and lend some support to our Baja neighbors. NORRA is actively seeking donations of clothing, canned food, dry goods, basic shelter (tents, tarps etc) and financial support. We ask that all participants in the event clean out their closets and pantries… just fill a box and bring it with you to the Rally. NORRA is working with the Mexican authorities to develop a distribution plan to ensure that the items go where they are needed most. It is important to remember that many of our Baja neighbors live on a basic level in even the best of times… now they’ve truly lost it all.

To learn more, call 661-268-1232, visit the NORRA website: www.norra.com, or send an email to: info@norra.com to find out the items in greatest demand.
