Default TForce Motorsports Announces Driver Line Up for 2008 Baja 500

ISTA, CA May 1, 2008 – TForce Motorsports is excited to announce its 2008 Tecate SCORE Baja 500 driver line-up. After a successful first event in the 2007 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, TForce Motorsports has rededicated itself to moving forward in 2008. To this end, Steve Hengeveld, the legendary seven time motorcycle class winner of the SCORE Baja 1000 has been announced as a driver in the #33 Toyota Tundra Trophy Truck class vehicle. Hengeveld, has been one of the truly dominant riders in the sport of off-road racing in the past two decades. In addition to his record in the SCORE Baja 1000, Steve has also posted six SCORE Baja 500 race victories. He is also the world record holder for total distance ridden on an off-road SCORE motorcycle (1414 miles). At 32 years old, Hengeveld is ready to move from two to four wheels. The opportunity to place Hengeveld in the TForce Motorsports truck is a tremendous opportunity for both team and driver.

Team principle and team driver Danny Sullivan had this to say about the addition of Hengeveld to the driver line-up, “We are always looking for good, young talent and Steve has proven himself to be a winner in Baja on numerous occasions. TForce wanted to give Steve an opportunity to show what he could do in the Trophy Truck.”

At nearly 800 horsepower, the transition to the Toyota Tundra Trophy Truck is a daunting one for any driver. However, in initial testing Hengeveld has looked and felt comfortable with his new environment. The incumbent driver of the #33 Toyota Tundra Trophy Truck, Chad Ragland, as well as the entire TForce Motorsports team have worked hard to develop the truck over the winter and the team is pleased with the progress.

As with the world famous SCORE Baja 1000, the 500 begins in Ensenada, Baja California and will finish back in Ensenada. TForce Motorsports is looking forward to returning to the Baja peninsula and is preparing a truck that will compete for the overall victory. In addition, the team and team drivers will use this as preparation for the big one, the 2008 SCORE Baja 1000.
