Harley-Davidson aims to win at Baja!
Team Hog Wild Racing has entered the 2008 Baja 1000 on their Harley-Davidson V-Rod powered offroad
sidecar. Driver Scott Whitney and passenger Joe “Hauler” Desrosiers have set their sights on
crossing the finish line and challenging the Swiss sidecar team competing on an Aprilia powered
sidecar rig. “It’s been years since a sidecar competed in Baja and this year there will be two of them”,
said Scott, “we’re looking forward to taking on this awesome challenge the toughest way possible, on a
sidecar.” Never before has there been head to head competition between two talented teams on these
amazing vehicles in the Baja.
Scott and Joe joined forces over a year ago with the goal of competing together in the Dakar Rally.
Scott competed in Dakar 2006, and brings to the duo over 30 years of sidecar motocross wins and
championships at some of the toughest tracks in the world. Joe brings the experience of numerous
Baja 1000 and Baja 500 class 21 wins, two class 21 championships and two times runner-up in the
class 22 championship against factory Honda. Their goal is to ironman this Baja 1000 on their handbuilt
off-road sidecar, and then turn their sights again to Dakar.
