YELLOW BRICK ROAD TO ROCK THE STREETS OF DOWNTOWN HENDERSON WITH FREE CONCERT

Concert, street party and vendor village celebrates Henderson’s Terrible 400 Desert Race, final race of the 2007 season

(Henderson, NV) – It’s only rock n’ roll, but the City of Henderson likes it. The City is delighted to welcome a great addition to the Henderson’s Terrible 400 Desert Race week of festivities, November 28 – December 2. Yellow Brick Road (YBR), a local classic rock tribute band, will perform a free concert in the Water Street District in downtown Henderson on Friday, November 30 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. All events are free to spectators.

Downtown Henderson will transform into an off-road racing enthusiast’s dream on Friday from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. The street party kicks off with the technical inspection and contingency event, where fans can admire over 200 trucks, cars, buggies, motorcycles and UTVs. Additionally, race enthusiasts and their families will enjoy a day of shopping and eating in the vendor village, concluding the night with a live concert by YBR.

YBR is different from most tribute bands, which generally pay homage to one artist. For the past 10 years, YBR has mastered the sounds, voices and mannerisms of a wide variety of classic rock icons that influenced a music evolution. The band mimics such classic rock super groups as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith and The Rolling Stones. With their dedication to producing an entertaining show that includes incredible sound, humor and an ever-increasing song list, YBR has become one of the most respected names in town, and have acquired a large following locally and beyond.

Considered the fastest course in the Best in the Desert race series, the Henderson’s Terrible 400 Desert Race is presented by Best in the Desert Racing Association, the City of Henderson, Herbst Gaming and the City of Boulder City. The race will take place on Saturday, December 1 in the Eldorado Valley located between Henderson and Boulder City. Made up of two race courses – one for motorcycles and ATVs and one for cars, trucks and buggies – drivers, riders and race teams will try to complete five full laps in a figure-eight style. The start-finish line is positioned off Nevada Highway 95, near the Railroad Pass exit.
