LeDuc, riding on Toyo tires, wins rough Vegas to Reno off-road race

Curt LeDuc rolled to another Best In The Desert(BITD) series Class 8000 win during last weekend’s TSCO Vegas to Reno race while riding on Toyo Open Country M/T tires.

LeDuc’s victory has been termed was remarkable, as his Rockstar/Makita/KC HiLites/Kal Gard/Toyo Ford F-150 outpaced the second-place truck in his class by more than five hours by the end of the grueling 453-mile long race through Nevada.

Curt LeDuc and his son Kyle, both hailing from Cherry Valley, Calif., were joined on board by Brent Wendt from Riverside and John Becka of Irvine. Drawing the 100th starting position, the team had to pass several trucks and buggies to make their way to the front of the field. Due to their starting position, Team LeDuc had to deal with exposed rocks and deep silt beds.

“There were enough rocks on this course to make a duplicate of the Great Wall of China,” says Curt LeDuc. “Our Toyo’s are definitely tough tires, and the reason we finished so well.”

This most recent win for the returning BITD Class 8000 champion is the fourth consecutive desert racing win for the Team LeDuc combination of driver, truck and tires. This year they have already won the Bluewater Resort & Casino Parker 425, the Terrible’s “250” at Primm, and the recent KC HiLites Midnight Special.

“Curt LeDuc with Toyo Tires captured the 2007 Best In The Desert Class 8000 championship,” reports Stan Chen, Toyo’s manager of events and motorsports. “With this fourth consecutive win, Team LeDuc and Toyo’s Open Country M/T tires are once again proving they are an unstoppable force for 2008.”
