Vildosola Racing announces his 2008 plans.

The Red Army ready to tackle the Score Championship.
Mexicali BC January 17, 2008, for immediate release
On the verge of the first race of the 2008 season, Vildosola Racing announced their plans for the upcoming year. After a successful and amazing 2007 season debut in the premier class in off-road racing and a second straight Baja Protruck Championship Tavo Vildosola is enthusiastic about the upcoming challenge. Tavo will be the driver of record in the family’s red & white Ford F-150 running the emblematic number #4; his dad, Gus Vildosola, will be splitting driving duties with Tavo at the Mexican events this season.
Tavo who started his off-road racing career in the year 2000 co-riding in his father’s class one buggy, in the San Felipe 250 and the legendary Baja 2000. Late that year he started honing his driving skills in a ½-1600 class car, then moved on to a class 12 and finally a Protruck. His progression has been evident throughout these years, improving his results and experience year by year. The Protruck series has afforded Tavo his best results capturing the biggest payout in off-road racing history in 2006, taking home over $100,000 and back to back championships. Last season was his first driving a Trophy Truck in the SCORE series, his previous experience was four races in three years in a local CODE series where his put some valuable experience under his belt.
“This year we are concentrating our efforts to capture the 2008 SCORE Trophy Truck championship”, added Tavo. “We are very excited about last seasons’ results, I feel I have learned a lot this past season, battling the biggest names in off-road racing and not giving in. I think we have fought hard to get to where we are right now as a team; we have invested many hours of testing, preparation and organization to get ready for the upcoming season. Last year we ran with the lead pack, this year I want to be in front of the lead pack, that’s our goal. I realize it’s a long season but judging from the results of the top two contenders for the championship last season, every race is the most important race of the season, there is no letting up, there cannot be bad days or you are immediately eliminated. I am ready for the season, my team is ready for the season, I just hope that the fans and my competitors are ready for us this season.”
The season will be starting in January with the short course in Laughlin, the 14th “SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge”. In the spring, Vildosola racing will be visiting their backyard with the return of the “SCORE San Felipe 250” in March. After a short layoff, they make a move to Ensenada in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the “SCORE Baja 500” in June. In mid July they come back to Nevada to compete in the “SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Cup IV”. Then in September, they travel up to Nevada for the battle at Stateline for the “SCORE Primm 300” celebrating its 13th anniversary, soon after they come back to Mexico in October to run again in his hometown of Mexicali for the CODE Mexicana Logistics 300. Finally, they prepare for the longest race of the season, the “SCORE Baja 1000” to be held in Ensenada, Baja California.
Gus Vildosola team owner and driver also added: “We are very excited to be on the top of our game and ready to run for the championship, we had an excellent 2007 season. We accomplished our goal in the Protruck and came as close as anyone could to taking my personal goal of a Baja 1000 overall victory. Tavo adapted very well his driving style to the Trophy Truck, now we are working on the details, we are analyzing last year with more scrutiny than ever before, we need to be ready to compete and beat the best to be the best. We consider ourselves contenders in every race and the championship, I cannot wait.”
Vildosola Racing wants to thank their ace mechanic and co-driver Javi Valenzuela for his dedication as well as that of all the boys at the shop who did a great job preparing the truck for each race. The Red Army was sensational in 2007 and we expects the same results in 2008, the Red Army is ready to compete for the title of the best team in 2008, are you??
